Paper Davids and Paper Goliaths

I’ve been revising the following essay for a couple months now. I thought it was ready, then I changed my mind, then went back and forth a bunch and then I decided I needed to publish or get off the shitbox.

Fair warning, it is raw and difficult and not within my usual wheelhouse. It is about topical events, though not the more recently topical ones (a statement that fills me with such sadness like you wouldn’t believe.) You’ll see within a couple paragraphs. It opens with a review of a comic and closes with some literary analysis. I could have written more, I certainly have more thoughts, but I think it'd just have diminishing returns.

Feel free to skip it and come back next week. It’s 4000 words. I won’t judge.
